For Immediate Release - February 28th 2013

South Peace Grain is pleased to announce to its members that we have been approved for $30,000.00 in funding to conduct a feasability study to investigate the economic potential and feasability of SPG installing a rail siding for the purposes of shipping grain. The funding is coming from two sources. $15,000.00 has been contributed by the South Peace Economic Development Commission. And $15,000.00 has been contributed by the Peace River Agriculture Development Fund (PRAD).

Thank you to Julie Robinson, Regional Agrologist with the B.C. Ministry of Agriculture and Lands and Sue Kenney, General Manager of Community Futures Dawson Creek for ensuring our success in receiving this funding.

Also thank you to the funding agencies. Without such funding sources small organizations such as ours face stiff headwinds attempting to develop large capital projects such as the one we are proposing.

We will immediately begin the search for qualified people to conduct the study. Please be sure to follow our progress as we move this project forward.
